Thursday Generation 

Many St John’s residents are senior citizens, many live alone, some have difficulty getting out and other would like to meet people and make new friends.

With this in mind, St John’s has various groups which meet on Thursdays throughout the month and offer help, support and the hand of friendship to our older residents and friends.

We don’t meet throughout August, starting back up again the first Thursday in September.

1st Thursday – First Thursday service – 10am

Easy to follow worship touching deep issues. With tea and coffee to follow.

2nd Thursday – Evergreen Lunch Club – 12noon

This is for Senior Citizens in the parish over the age of 70. A warm welcome awaits everyone. Transport can be arranged and the meal costs just £5 per person. If you are coming for the first time please contact the church office first to book a place.

3rd Thursday – Discipleship group – 10am

The Discipleship Group this is a time for Bible study, prayer, mutual support and encouragement.

4th Thursday – Thursday Friendship Club – 10am

The Friendship Club is a place to come and have tea or coffee and cake, and chat with like-minded people. Both ladies and gentlemen are most welcome.

5th Thursday – Extra Special Activities!

When there is a fifth Thursday in the month we hold some other form of entertainment which will include coffee, tea, ice creams or cake! Do come along and bring your friends.
