Romania
St. John’s has been working on projects in Romania since 2017, travelling to Transylvania to assist with a community project which will primarily support an orphanage for children from the area’s ghetto. We always welcome new members of the team to come along and spend a life-changing week with a purpose!
NEXT TRIP: OCTOBER 26th – NOVEMBER 2nd JUNE (half term week)
Everybody in the team pays for their own travel, accommodation and food costs for the duration of the trip and we also collectively raise money to help fund the project itself, which buys building materials and specific items that are needed at the time. The cost of the trip for 2024 is £550 all-inclusive of all flights, transfers, hotels, travel, food etc.
We have loads of fundraising events, including Quiz’s, runs and cycles, food nights, movie nights, concerts, car wash’s – you name it, we’ll do it!
We also send shoebox gifts out to the children in Romania each Christmas, and if you would like to be involved or would like more information, please click the button at the bottom of this page to contact Nik Read, the SJC project coordinator, alternatively please contact the office.
Please take a look at the films below, which explain more about the project and its current progress:
