There is always lots going on throughout the week, both on site, or in the community…
SJC Communities
Our Communities are the place to ‘feel like we belong’, they’re where we’re ‘known and grown’ as followers of Jesus – meeting regularly to do life, worship, pray together and serve the world around us. Each Community serves a local area, or a particular group of people. Communities are all shapes and sizes, for all ages and stages, and we’re sure there’ll be one for you to feel at home in. Ask a friend and join theirs, visit our SJC Communities page or click here to tell us which one you’re interested in visiting and becoming a part of and you’ll be sent an invite.
Parent and Toddler Group
Refresh is our weekly relaxed cafe-style group for parents, carers and grandparents with babies and children under 3. Our aim is to care and support those with young children so there is an area for babies and lots of toys for toddlers and babies plus we provide drinks and snacks for adults and children. As well as lots of time for chat and play one of the team gives a very short thought for the week and we finish our time with singing.
Choir
Meeting every Monday evening, our community choir is open to absolutely everyone, no experience needed! Always growing, we have over 60 people involved. It’s completely free and you’re not required to attend every week, so no worries about missing it every now and then. Come along and be a part of it, it’s amazing!
Romania
SJC support the building of an orphanage project in Romania and since 2017 have sent teams to engage in building work a number of times each year. We also provide a Christmas shoebox appeal for the children in the Romany gypsy communities.
Check out the page to see the films we’ve made and to learn more.
Serving @ SJC
Serving at SJC can be absolutely anything, from being on the refreshments rota, playing in the band, helping on the AV desk, or even painting the occasional wall. At SJC we’re a family and we believe that if we all pull together we can get lots achieved and nobody has to do too much. Getting involved is real fun and a great place to make new friends.
