We are a diverse and lively bunch of people, learning to follow Jesus, love people and transform the world around us. We are part of the New Wine network of churches and are an Anglican Church, in the Diocese of Chelmsford.
Being part of an SJC Community
Our Communities are the place to ‘feel like we belong’ at SJC. They’re where we’re ‘known and grown’ as followers of Jesus- meeting regularly to do life, worship, pray together and serve the world around us in different ways. Each Community serves a local area, or a particular group of people. These Communities are all sorts of shapes and sizes, for all ages and stages, and we’re sure there will be one for you to feel a part of and feel at home in. Ask a friend which one they belong and join theirs, visit our SJC Communities page or click here to tell us which one you’re interested in visiting and becoming a part of and you’ll be sent an invite.
Gathering on Sundays
Do visit our services guide to find out which Sunday gathering would suit your needs. During our gatherings, we worship and receive life-giving teaching and encouragement for the week ahead, so as to envision us and equip us to live life to the full. There are always opportunities to receive prayer during our gatherings and to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Each Sunday one of our gatherings is live-streamed and made available on the St John’s Church Colchester YouTube channel and are available 24/7 so you can watch at a time convenient to you.
Prayer at SJC
Prayer is central to the life of SJC, with gatherings throughout the week, in our Communities, and at our Prayer Gatherings. Click here to get see how you can get involved…
