Mission Partnerships

We have members serving cross-culturally in China, Eastern Europe, France, Nigeria, Cambodia and the UK. We call this Long Term Mission as this ministry is their life's work.

Support: St. John's Church support our Mission Partners in various ways:

PRAYER: they are prayed for in church, in home groups and by individuals.  Each Mission Partner sends out newsletters regularly. Mission Partners Prayer News is produced bi-monthly, which you can receive via the iweekly email or get a paper copy. From time to time we have a Prayer Breakfast, when we come together to pray for our Mission Partners.

ENCOURAGEMENT:  It is encouraging to receive letters, emails, cards and phone calls when you are far from home; to know that you are not forgotten and that someone is praying for you, interested in your work and maybe able to give a helpful message.

FINANCE:  All our Mission Partners need food and shelter, transport and other costs! St. John's give regular amounts towards these needs.

Short Term Mission

We also engage in Short Term Mission for periods of 1 week to 1 year. In 2014 individuals and teams went to serve in Bolivia, South Africa and Hungary, working alongside organisations already in those places and also with local Christians. In 2015 a number of our youth went to Romania to work with the charity Cry in the Dark.
